This One's For All The Heroes...
This post is for all of my fellow grunts who fight the information war day-in and day-out. It's for my band of brothers in the E-infantry who wage one-on-one combat armed only with with pixel and electron; we who are unsalaried, unheralded, and pensionless: the unsung blogger heroes of The Long War. This is for all of us who have sacrificed so many keyboards, mouses, sex lives, and our very carpal tunnels in service of a cause greater than ourselves -- we too need to know that our efforts have been rewarded.
And today, we do know.
"Half of Americans now say Iraq had weapons of mass destruction when the United States invaded the country in 2003 — up from 36 percent last year....In addition, 64 percent say Saddam had "strong links" with al Qaeda....Fifty-five percent said that "history will give the U.S. credit for bringing freedom and democracy to Iraq."....American confidence in the Iraqis has improved: 37 percent said Iraq would succeed in creating a stable democracy, up five points since November."
-Washington Times, 7-25-06
The pudding pops are on me, boys. God bless you each and every one.
Yours in manful pride,
AGH
